Ponders Bridge House, Islington

A special needs supported housing scheme in Islington for people with complex mental health needs. The five-storey building provides 12 self-contained flats, four of which are to wheelchair standard, together with staff offices and associated ancillary accommodation.

The heavyweight concrete frame structure sits on deep piled foundations to shield the building from vibrations from the nearby railway and bridge. High thermal mass and high levels of soundproofing are achieved.
