Art Gallery, Suffolk

The brief from this long term client was to refurbish their existing listed stables and to create a subtle and contemporary backdrop in which to display artwork and provide an area for a home office and function room.

Lighting became one of the main facets of the scheme, with a combination of spotlights, and backlit display panels. In order to maximise height within the new room, existing roof trusses were replaced with robust steel portal frames, allowing the space to be read visually as one, and yet create a rhythm in which artwork can be shown in different areas.
